How do I personalise my dog’s harness?

When choosing your harness, simply type your dog’s name into the custom text box before adding it to your cart. All name tags are printed in uppercase as standard, so please double-check spelling before completing your order.

Can I add emojis or symbols to the name tag?

We currently support standard English letters and numbers only. If you’d like something special, email hello@barkee.co.uk and we’ll see what’s possible.

Are the name tags removable?

Yes. Our harnesses use Velcro-backed name tags that are fully removable. If you’re concerned about safety when out and about, you can detach the tags at any time without affecting the harness.

How do I know you’ve received my order?

As soon as your order is placed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your order number. If it hasn’t arrived within a few minutes, check your junk or promotions folder or email support@barkee.co.uk.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

We begin preparing personalised orders very quickly. If you need to make a change or cancel, please contact us as soon as possible at support@barkee.co.uk.

Once production of your personalised name tag has started, we may not be able to make amendments or cancellations, but we’ll always do our best to help where possible.

How do I choose the right size for my dog?

Every Barkee harness is fully adjustable and designed to fit snugly, not tightly.

To find the right size, measure your dog’s girth (the widest part of the chest just behind the front legs). This is the most important measurement. A front chest measurement across the shoulders helps fine-tune the fit.

In general, XS suits very small breeds and puppies, S suits small dogs, M suits medium dogs, and L suits large and extra-large dogs. Breed examples are a guide only. For the best fit, always measure your dog.

Your harness should feel secure but comfortable. You should always be able to slip one finger between the strap and your dog’s fur.

If your dog sits between sizes, we recommend sizing up. For puppies still growing, choose the size they’re closest to and let them grow into it. Deep-chested breeds such as French Bulldogs or Staffies should always size based on girth.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship from?

All Barkee orders are packed and shipped from our UK fulfilment centre. We’re proudly based in Brighton, where we design, test, and refine every product before it reaches your dog’s doorstep.

When will my order be sent out?

We dispatch orders within 1–2 working days. Once dispatched, deliveries are sent with next-day DHL, though we recommend allowing an extra working day just to be safe.

Personalised items may take a little longer during busy periods.

How can I track my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll receive a dispatch email with a tracking link so you can follow it all the way to your door.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. We’re currently focused on the UK. Barkee was born here, and we want every part of the experience, from fit to fulfilment, to be perfect before expanding abroad.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return or exchange my order?

Yes. We offer free size exchanges on harnesses and leads if you ordered the wrong size.

If you need a different size of the same product, please contact support@barkee.co.uk within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition. You’ll cover the cost of return postage, and we’ll ship the replacement item to you at no extra cost. If a different name tag size is required, we’ll remake it as part of the exchange.

If you’re exchanging between sizes that use the same name tag size (for example, M and L), your existing personalised name tag can be kept and used with the replacement item. In these cases, a replacement name tag will not be shipped.

Personalised name tags are made to order and can’t be returned or refunded unless they’re faulty or incorrect. This does not affect your statutory rights.

If you’ve simply changed your mind, we accept returns within 30 days of delivery for non-personalised items, provided they’re unused and in original condition. Return postage is the customer’s responsibility.

If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us and we’ll make it right.

I ordered the wrong size — what happens to my tag?

If you exchange your harness for a different size, we’ll remake and attach a new personalised name tag if the replacement size requires it. If the new size uses the same name tag size, your original tag can be kept and reused, and no replacement tag will be sent. All remakes are included as part of our free size exchange, at no extra cost.

What should I do if I receive a faulty or incorrect item?

If something isn’t right, please email support@barkee.co.uk within 30 days of delivery. Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos showing the fault or error.

If the issue is confirmed, we’ll arrange a replacement, refund, or store credit, and we’ll cover any reasonable return and replacement shipping costs.

Care & Materials

How should I wash my Barkee harness or lead?

We recommend spot cleaning or gentle hand washing in cold or lukewarm water using a mild detergent, then air drying flat or hanging away from direct heat or sunlight. Avoid machine washing, tumble drying, soaking, or scrubbing, as this may affect printed details, stitching, or hardware over time. After wet walks, wipe metal components dry and store all items in a cool, dry place to help preserve fit, finish, and performance.

What materials do you use?

Our walkwear is crafted from durable nylon and polyester webbing, finished with reinforced metal hardware throughout. We use soft neoprene on handles for comfort, reflective stitching for visibility, and hard-wearing fabrics designed to stand up to everyday walks while feeling comfortable for your dog.

Gifting & Packaging

Can I send my order as a gift?

Yes. Our clean, durable Barkee mailers look great straight through the post. We don’t currently offer gift wrapping or messages, but the unboxing still feels special and personal.

Do you include pricing or receipts in the package?

No. All receipts are digital. There’s no pricing or paperwork inside the parcel.
